MANY students enter college with one goal in mind: owning their own business.  It takes a certain kind of person to be an entrepreneur -- someone who is motivated, resourceful, original and knowledgeable about all aspects of business. The Neeley Entrepreneurship Center was created especially for those current and future entrepreneurs to build their skills, capabilities and confidence.

Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization

With more than 400 members, TCU’s Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization, http://www.tcuceo.org/, is the largest and most active chapter in the U.S. The student-run club informs, supports, and inspires college students to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunities through enterprise creation. The club hosts several events including a distinguished speaker series, dinner with a CEO, entrepreneur’s road trip, a mentor program, and a national conference. Through the Entrepreneurial Intern Scholarship, TCU CEO members are matched with companies in TECH Fort Worth, a local business incubator, for real-world experience.

Competitions

Entrepreneurs thrive on competition, and the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center provides ample opportunity for students to showcase their skills.

  • TCU Texas High School Entrepreneur of The Year - The annual scholarship competition attracts students from across the state. The top six win scholarship awards that are doubled if they attend TCU. Most do, and several have been featured in popular magazines, websites and on the Home Shopping Network.
  • TCU Collegiate Entrepreneur of the Year Award – Students across campus compete in this annual event. The winner then competes at the regional level to go on to the national level. TCU students have won the national competition three years in a row.
  • Elevator Pitch Competition - Students have two minutes to pitch a business idea to a panel of judges for a chance to win a cash prize and compete at the national competition.
  • Business Plan Competition – Student teams compete for cash and the opportunity to contend at other Business Plan competitions around the country.
