NC State Entrepreneurship Initiative (EI).
Entrepreneurship and “entrepreneurial thinking” are tools for transforming ideas, inventions, and other resources into sustainable, value-added solutions for the betterment of our world. The EI is a campus-wide program to provide both curricular and extra-curricular opportunities to empower NC State students, whatever their discipline, as entrepreneurial thinkers, doers, and leaders.

Engineering Entrepreneurs Program (EEP).
Senior engineering students in the EEP complete their capstone design requirement in a course in which they act as founders of a start-up company developing a new technology product. Underclassmen from across the university participate in the EEP as "virtual employees" of these start-ups.

Minor in Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship.
Together with the business and economics courses, the entrepreneurship focus affords students an understanding of the entrepreneurial foundations and managerial principles needed for the unique environments faced by founders of new business ventures.

Major in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship Concentration.
The entrepreneurship concentration is cross-disciplinary, focusing on the challenges of establishing and managing new and growing ventures. The business environment and management skills required for success in new ventures are significantly different from those in established, mature organizations.

EI 201 Exploring Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurial Thinking UNITS: 3
This course covers the perspectives of entrepreneurial thinking from an interdisciplinary perspective including: expectations and understanding of successful entrepreneurs as well as entrepreneurial opportunities in a variety of disciplines and entities including sciences, technology, humanities and social sciences. Primary focus will be on developing the student's entrepreneurial mindset.

MIE 413 New Venture Planning
Students will learn to develop a business plan for a new venture and the entrepreneurial process of executing the first phases of new venture creation. Topics include idea conception, entrepreneurship, business planning, market research, entrepreneurial opportunities and strategies. Emphasis is placed on high growth business opportunities. The final deliverable is a complete business plan for a high growth venture and formal presentation of the plan to mock investors.

ECE 383 Introductions to Entrepreneurship and New Product Development
This course is part of the Engineering Entrepreneurs Program. Students work as team members on projects being led by seniors completing their senior capstone design. Students will be exposed to many areas of product development and will assist in the design and implementation of the prototype product.
