Social entrepreneurs believe that free enterprise can generate effective solutions for social problems such as preserving the environment, reducing inequality, providing healthcare, improving education and reducing poverty. The enormous complexity of these problems requires students to gain an understanding of the economic, political, and social factors driving these challenges through experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
A Social Entrepreneurship Concentration
Students at the Brock School of Business at Samford University can add a social entrepreneurship concentration to any major to prepare them for a wide variety of career opportunities including public service, non-profit management, or entrepreneurship. The program features a multi-disciplinary capstone course team-taught by professors, has close ties to the Mann Center for Ethics and Leadership, and includes an internship combined with a practical lab to test students’ own innovations.
