ACCORDING to the Small Business Administration, women are among the fastest growing sectors of entrepreneurs. In fact, women-owned small businesses are growing at twice the rate of all businesses.
The annual WISE Symposium draws close to 1,000 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to Syracuse to learn how to start and grow their dreams into reality.
At Syracuse, that trend has fostered the plan for Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (WISE), sponsored by the Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. As a whole, the WISE program seeks to empower women to move forward in the innovation, growth, and development of their business ventures.
Entrepreneur Resources for Women
Through the WISE Business Center and funded through a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration, women entrepreneurs can tap into counseling, coaching, consulting, and training; as well as essential networking and mentoring opportunities with award-winning entrepreneurship faculty and veteran entrepreneurs. The center is strategically located in a downtown, business-accessible neighborhood of the city of Syracuse.
