the Lyles Center understands that even though high school and community college students with businesses form a small segment of the population, their potential for success is highTHE LYLES Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at California State University, Fresno offers scholarships to incoming students wishing to pursue an education and future career in entrepreneurship. Up to eight high school and community college students with existing businesses receive $5,000 each year to support and expand their businesses while pursuing their education. Scholarship recipients also receive mentoring, coaching and support from the Lyles Center and an office space at the Lyles Center to house their business.
Stephanie Reilly always dreamed of being a fashion designer and began creating her own jewelry as a young child. Before coming to Fresno State, she used her bedroom as a shop and an office. She earned an entrepreneur scholarship and founded POParazzi in August 2007 at the age of 18.
She used the funding she received and her office at the Lyles Center to launch her company which developed quickly and continues to grow. She began her company by making vintage bottle cap jewelry and eventually plans to expand to a clothing line, designer handbags, luggage, makeup, perfume and shoes.
Celebrities such as Colbie Caillat, Kristen Bell and the casts of High School Musical and Sunset Tan on E! sport her designs.
